Healthy Eating Toolkits for Workplaces

The employer manual Healthy Eating Toolkit for Workplaces (2009) is designed to help you make your workplace a supportive and healthy environment. It contains information on: making the business case, background healthy eating concepts, how to get started, taking a comprehensive approach to your healthy eating activities and special workplace considerations.

The toolkit Rethinking Healthy Eating in the Workplace Parts I & II (2011) contains a business case as well as a rationale for including environmental supports in your healthy eating initiatives. Part I outlines the business case related to unhealthy eating in "The cost of doing nothing". Part II - "Examining the evidence: addressing the limitations of current interventions" contains information about how the food environment influences individual decisions as well as psychological and physiological barriers to making day-to-day healthy eating choices. This section also contains an overview of the effectiveness of current interventions used to promote healthy eating.

Part III - "Making the shift: comprehensive strategies to promote healthy eating" is currently under development. Please contact Project Health if you would like more information related to this section.
