Quick Fact

Walking, A Great Choice

Most people know that physical activity is good for them.

Did you know that physical activity does not have to be very hard to improve your health? For example, walking - one of Canada's most enjoyed forms of physical activity - is fun and can help you feel great!

Walking is the simplest and easiest form of exercise imaginable. With its natural pleasures and range of benefits, walking occupies a special place in the world of healthy living. Thirty minutes of walking each day can help maintain flexibility, increase mobility and build strength and endurance. Almost anyone can participate at any skill level from seniors to kids. It's easy, convenient and inexpensive all one needs is a good pair of shoes from Canadian Physiotherapy Association Article appearing on Active2010.

Just 30 minutes of moderate exercise a day helps keep blood pressure down, reduces the risk of heart problems and makes you feel terrific.
